WV Needs Our Help!

Brothers,

On June 23rd large parts of southern West Virginia suffered from record breaking flooding that resulted in the loss of lives and severe property damage. When the rains subsided more than twenty had lost their lives and thousands were left homeless. After experiencing first-hand the heartbreak of Superstorm Sandy, those of us on the East Coast, especially in the greater NYC area, know too well the difficult road that lie ahead for those displaced.

As a WVU alumnus I will always consider West Virginia my second home and the kind people of WV will always be a part of my extended family – a feeling I believe is shared by all of us in Alpha Rho. At this moment our close friend and brother, DJ Scarton, is working at the famed Greenbrier Resort in White Sulphur Springs to provide lodging and relief to those in need. The Greenbrier, through its “Neighbors Loving Neighbors” initiative, is focused on providing for those who are without clothing, food, or shelter.
Staying true to Pi Kapp’s values which are rooted in public service, I’m asking for Alpha Rho’s support in backing the Greenbrier’s local efforts.

So, how can we help?

If you’re in the NYC area:

DRINK A BEER! (and get a bite to eat) at Jack Doyle’s  – NYC’s WVU BAR

On Thursday, July 21st  from 5:30PM-10:00PM I will be hosting a fund raiser at Jack Doyle’s Pub & Restaurant (http://jackdoylesnyc.com/) where 100% of the proceeds from food and beverage purchases will be donated to the Greenbrier’s Neighbors Fund. Bring friends, clients, or both!

OR

Make a cash or check donation!

I will be collecting donations at the event on 21st (Checks should be made out to “Neighbors Loving Neighbors” or feel free to follow directions in the Greenbrier link below on how to make contributions online).

Please take a moment and visit the link below for more information about The Greenbrier’s Neighbors Loving Neighbors program. Their partner, the Rhema Christian Center, is a designated 501(c)(3) organization.

Our contributions will go a long way in assisting families on their road to recovery! I am calling on all of our regional leaders to make an impact in any way possible.

Thank you!
