The past 12 months have been extraordinary for Alpha Rho. From the anticipation and realization of the Rechartering of our Student Chapter to being recognized as the first Master Champion Alumni Chapter and 2019 Alumni Chapter of the Year, to moving back into our renovated Chapter home. Alpha Rho is firing on all cylinders.
Over the past few years, we have come to our members to ask for help in making all of what we’ve accomplished possible. We started with asking ourselves what if we had the financial wherewithal to do what we needed to do to succeed in a way Alpha Rho never had before? We then asked you for help and many responded. From there, we executed on our plans and did what very few thought possible- We completely changed our fortunes as a Chapter. And as you might expect, we’ve been recognized nationally for our work.
And while the Board of Directors is extremely proud of what we have been able to accomplish together, we know that there is so much more to do. There are new challenges that we’re faced with and there is pressure to maintain the level of excellence we’ve established. We simply can not be satisfied with our past accomplishments. We need to be focused on doing whatever we can to keep striving to become “The Ideal Chapter”.
In the next few days, you will be receiving a mailing from me outlining the Alpha Rho Alumni Chapter’s 2020 Contribution Campaign. In the mailing, we will outline the funding needs and projects that the Alumni Chapter is responsible for over the next 12 to 18 months. Our known commitments are going to be in excess of $20,000. And while aggressive, your Board of Directors is focused on delivering what we have planned.
All of this work will allow us to fundamentally focus on the one major mission of The Alumni Chapter- To provide our members the ability to fulfill the lifetime commitment we made to Pi Kappa Phi at our Ritual of Initiation. And in doing so, to allow for the continuation of the lifelong friendships that have been forged with members from all eras of Alpha Rho.
One area that we need to improve on with this 2020 Campaign is getting more of our members to participate in our call for contributions. We’ve been able to meet our past obligations with a tiny fraction of our members contributing. This time around, we need to have everyone’s help. For some, the Fraternity isn’t a priority in their lives now due to careers or children. But we ask that you think about the times that it was important to you, and also consider that at some point, you will want to return to capture the magic of our special Chapter again. I can assure you, we’ve seen many Brothers return to Morgantown, skeptical of this “Alpha Rho Magic”, only to have them reduced to tears with how much is still means to them.
