Chris “Barney” Denson was initiated into Pi Kappa Phi in the fall of 1993. As an undergraduate, Chris held the positions of Secretary and Scholarship Chairman. Since graduation, Chris has assisted the Alpha Rho Housing Corporation on various legal matters.

Chris is originally from Media, Pennsylvania, located outside of Philadelphia, but has called West Virginia home since 1999. Chris currently resides in Bridgeport, West Virginia, with his wife Amy and their 4 children.

Chris graduated from WVU in 1996 and Widener University School of Law in 1999. Since graduation, Chris accepted an associate attorney position with Steptoe & Johnson PLLC, where he was later elevated to Member. In 2012, Chris joined a small boutique firm, Taylor Law Office, where he specializes in insurance defense litigation. Chris is admitted to practice before all state and federal courts in West Virginia, the Fourth Circuit Court of Appeals and the United States Supreme Court.

Over the years, Chris has been active in many professional, civic and community associations. Chris has served as a board member and President of the Harrison County Student Achievement Board, co-chair of the United Way of Harrison County’s Construction Division, member of the Board of Directors of the American Red Cross North Central WV Chapter, participant of Leadership Harrison of the Harrison County Chamber of Commerce, member of the Board of Directors of the Harrison County Bar Association, and member of the Defense Trial Counsel of West Virginia. Chris also has a love of music as he was a member of the Pride of West Virginia Marching Band his freshman year and currently plays the drums for his church’s worship team.

Chris is honored to serve as the COO for the Alpha Rho Alumni Chapter to enable him to give back to an organization that did so much for him as a collegian.
